Yes. AfiaSync is built on Microsoft Azure's HIPAA-eligible infrastructure. All data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.2+), stored exclusively in US data centers, and isolated per tenant. We provide a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) to all customers who handle Protected Health Information.

During a patient encounter, you tap "Record" in AfiaSync. The audio is securely sent to Azure Speech Services for real-time transcription. Once the encounter ends, the transcript is processed by Azure OpenAI to generate a structured SOAP note (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan). You review, edit if needed, and sign — all in minutes, not hours.

Audio recordings are stored securely in Azure Blob Storage for 90 days after transcription for quality assurance purposes. After 90 days, recordings are permanently deleted. The transcribed text and generated SOAP notes are retained as part of the clinical documentation per our data retention policy.

No. AfiaSync uses Azure OpenAI Service, which does not use customer data to train, retrain, or improve foundation models. Your patient data is processed only to generate your clinical documentation and is never shared with OpenAI or any third party for model improvement.
